I've received a couple special compliments recently and it reminded me of a verse in Proverbs: "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it" - Proverbs 3:27

Have you ever noticed how some people just can't bring themselves to say something nice about others?  Why is it so hard for some people to compliment others?  I think one of the greatest privileges we have as being leaders is being able to bless others with compliments.  A well timed compliment can be such a blessing.

Here are some good reasons for giving others compliments:

  • Compliments takes the focus off you (which is why some struggle to give them!)
  • Compliments promotes connection
  • Compliments build trust and loyalty
  • Compliments create a positive culture
  • Compliments increase productivity
  • Compliments are good for you

Here are a list of compliments you should use often:

  • I'm proud of you
  • You are enough
  • I appreciate you
  • I believe in you
  • You belong here
  • You always manage to (fill in the blank)

So in closing, I appreciate every one of you!
